Community
We recognise that all communities, and the people that live in them, have abundant strengths and resources that can be utilised for collective outcomes. We choose to work with community projects and organisations that focus on local connections to land, to community and to each other.
Examples of local community development projects are:
-
Working with young people to develop a place-based and outreach employment pathways program
-
Developing locally based volunteer teams to run community dinners to welcome newly arrived residents and build neighbourly connections
-
Collaborating with residents and agencies to establish priorities for climate action in flood and fire-affected communities
-
Building a seasonal community gathering for people experiencing grief and loss

'Rachel's passion for community development and empowering leadership comes through in everything she does. She lives what she teaches. As coordinator at Welcome Dinner project this was evident in how she engaged with volunteers, encouraging and supporting us to hold ownership of local area groups while steering enough to hold true to the ethos of the project.'
Tamara Garrett: Youth Worker - Youthworx

'Rachel was a fundamental part of building our pathways program at Youthworx. Rachel's work ethic and team work skills are exceptional. Collaborating with Rachel is always a seamless process.'
